is to create a community of people, coming from many different backgrounds, who want to share the experience of making a show come together – the rehearsing, painting, sewing, losing sleep, laughing, crying, and making memories. Then, ultimately, we share the culmination of our work with you, our audience, and hope that you will experience the love we have for the theater.
A number of the creative people involved with St. Anne Stages have professional creditials -
both in front of and behind the stage lights.
Christine Knitel
Dawn Greene
Nancy Quinn
Eric Knitel
Christine’s professional theatre credits include Paper Mill Playhouse, The Bickford Theatre, The Forum Theatre, New England Lyric Operetta, Montclair Operetta Club, The Passion Play of Union City, and "too much" dinner theater! She has appeared on All My Children, recorded numerous original musicals and has worked as a voice-over artist.
As a co-founder and Artistic Director of St. Anne Stages, Christine has served as musical director for many youth productions, including our annual “Musical Theatre Summer Workshop,” directed Godspell, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Guys and Dolls, Pippin, for which she was nominated for a Perry Award for “Best Director,” and the production nominated for “Best Musical in New Jersey – 2003,” Annie, and most recently, Jesus Christ Superstar.
Christine teaches vocal and instrumental music in John A. Forrest Elementary School in Fair Lawn where many of her students have “crossed over” and become part of the Stages family. She is ever grateful to be working and creating with so many of those she loves, especially her husband, Eric, daughters Julia and Elena and her creative partner, Dawn Greene!
Dawn Greene has choreographed Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Cinderella, Oklahoma!, Hello Dolly!, Nunsense, Godspell, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Guys and Dolls, Pippin, Jesus Christ Superstar, Stages of Life, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver, and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. She has also been the choreographer for all of the St. Anne Stages Musical Theatre Summer Workshops. Dawn loves to be behind the scenes and watch the hours and hours of planning become a reality. Our talented cast and crew always does such a great job! Dawn's "day job" is teacher. She teaches 7th and 8th grade literature and language arts in St. Anne School.
In her spare time, she loves seeing Broadway shows with her pal Lisa and spending time with her husband John and beautiful daughter, Carissa (who has grown up in this theater company and has performed spectacularly in several of Stages productions). Dawn especially loves the opportunity to work with her right arm, Christine and so many wonderful people through St. Anne Stages.
Nancy Quinn literally gave birth to the idea of theatre at St. Anne. Her many St. Anne School productions, including Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, and Annie were the foundation of what would become St. Anne Stages - expanding and opening productions to all parishioners.
Nancy will always be remembered for her performance as Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense. Since then, she has appeared in Chatham Players' Fiddler on the Roof and Montclair Operetta Club's The King and I. She produced Grease here at St. Anne Stages and was one of the Narrators in last season's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
After more than seven years teaching music and choir in the Maywood School System, she now teaches music in Ramsey.
Eric’s professional theater credits include a General in Evita at the Paper Mill Playhouse, Lancelot in Camelot at Harrah’s Atlantic City, productions with the New England Lyric Operetta, The Passion Play of Union City, The Forum Theatre, a great deal of dinner theater, numerous recordings, voice-overs, and theatrical work in the tri-state area. Eric portrayed Jesus in our production of Godspell.
He has served as technical director for many STAGES productions, directed the memorable Nunsense, literally worked on every aspect of our production of The Sound of Music, Grease, Joseph, and Guys and Dolls.
Eric is loved and adored by the three leading ladies in his life: Christine, Julia, and Elena.
